First a little about my roots

This blog is going to be about food, fashion and whatever else interests me.

My Food background:

I LIVE TO EAT. That says it all it all. Basically I've always loved food. My family exposed me to good food at a young age. My mom would eat anything and everything and loved food more than any other person I knew. So for special occasions we would go to nice restaurants, like House of Prime Rib, Market, and Water Front. Also both my mom and grandmother were really good cooks. (Unfortunately I can't cook.) And my brother makes delicious pies. In any case, I do my best to try different food. (Thank goodness for the invention of yelp- a foodie's best resource!) I'm happy to say I've had delicious food in San Francisco, New York, Vegas, China, Japan, Italy, France and Spain and am now saving up for a foodlicious adventure in Yountville and Hong Kong. I can't wait!

My Fashion Background:

When I was a child, I did not care so much for fashion. Even so, I wore all kinds of crazy designer clothes due to my mom's love of fashion. Mom loved to dress me up and take pictures of me. That's probably how I got into modeling, which did not last long for various reasons. But when I grew to an age where I had some control over my clothes, I was mainly a tom-boy. Looking back, this is probably due to the fact that I had low confidence and poor body image. This did not change as I got older and in high school, mainly wore simple T-shirt and jeans. It did not help that I was teased about my big booty for an Asian girl, and was highly anxious about it. I would try to hide it with clothes. But now that I'm older I've grown to be proud of who I am and with that has come my love of fashion. Now that I am comfortable with who I am, I happily play with fashion.

And since I like to play with fashion, I started to sew. I'm not the best at it, and am very bad with patterns, but I absolutely love to sew. I have my own etsy account (Piratepandi), and I mainly make custom scarves and neck warmers, but I also make earrings, pins, shirts, skirts, purses, belts, and more. If you're interested in Piratepandi, please check it out on etsy and it's also available at Dash Cafe in SF (If you go, try their waffles-so good!). I was also a "fashion consultant" for a music video, which sounds a lot cooler than it was. Still, I enjoyed that experience and look forward to other opportunities.
